We drove northward from the Mariposa Grove toward the Yosemite Valley on what we believed to be an extremely curvy, narrow road. Later we learned that all roads we traveled we curvy and narrow, that is, when they were something more than a series of linked hairpin turns. Anyway, just before Yosemite Valley the road straightened and headed into a tunnel. At the end of the tunnel the most incredible view opens up before you...and for us it was in perfect light late in the afternoon.
