Looking for a convenient, short, non-strenuous warmup hike, we headed from the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center to "Happy Isles", a couple of sand bar / islands a flat mile from the trailhead. Unfortunately Nancy and Jacob decided they were warmed up after this little jaunt, thus beginning our trip to Vernal Fall.
